Four Elements Bandana, plant dyed and hand printed

$40.00

Any order made between 12/15-12/31 will not be shipped until the New Year

This organic cotton bandana is one of a kind, block printed and dyed naturally with plants. Made with love, intention, and great respect for our Earth. The cotton is organic and fair trade certified, made in India.

Wear this mixed mushroom bandana around your neck, face of hair, and fall in love with the soft and luxurious fabric against your skin. Use this as decoration for your altar, as a wall hanging or to wrap special objects like tarot decks. This bandana has 5 total prints, one in each corner and one in the center. Printed with hand carved linocuts of the four elements:

Air - Hummingbird (North)

Fire - Rattlesnake (East)

Earth - Deer (South)

Water - Frog and Trout (West)

The fifth (middle) print is the compass rose, representing the four directions. The compass is a balance of all four elements, coming together in perfect harmony.

Size is 23”x23”

Shibori is a technique of creating resists on the fabric (like tie-dye) to create unique patterns. What you see pictured is not necessarily the design you will get as each piece of fabric is tied and dyed separately.

*Colors may vary as each onesie is hand dyed and hand printed. Each onesie is unique, no two are exactly alike.

Plants used in dyeing:
Indigo, myrobalan, and madder root

Washing/care Instructions: As will all plant dyed and block printed items, wash cold and hang dry for best results. The plants I work with are all highly “colorfast”, meaning they shouldn’t fade in the wash. The printed mushroom may fade slightly after the first wash, but should not fade further. If ironing, iron on the reverse side of the prints.

Packaging:
I have taken great care to ensure every piece of packaging used is biodegradable and can be composted in a commercial composting facility. Yes, I even use compostable tape! The bandanas themselves are also technically compostable (but I hope you won't be throwing them in the compost)!
